What are people saying about Metal Compost Container?
I love the look and size of this compost bin but had a terrible problem with fruit flies. When we used a closed ceramic bin, the fruit flies (which we sometimes have) didn't notice the bin; however, as soon as we started using this one, with the air vents covered by the filter, the fruit flies couldn't keep away. Also, not only could the fruit flies smell the produce scraps, but we could too. I'm sadly returning this bin even though it looks like a great product.
How to use
Place the compost bin on your countertop or under the sink to collect daily food scraps like vegetable peels, coffee grounds, and eggshells. The built-in charcoal filter helps keep odors at bay between emptying.
When full, transfer the contents to your outdoor compost pile or municipal compost bin. For longer-term storage or if you’re short on time, freeze scraps until ready to dispose of them properly.
