Sustainability
The Mexican Loomed Hammock is crafted sustainably by artisans in Oaxaca, Mexico using regenerated cotton. Regenerated cotton is an eco-friendly material made from recycled textile waste, reducing the need for new cotton production, which is water-intensive and often reliant on pesticides. The hammocks are hand-loomed using traditional techniques passed down through generations, supporting local craftsmanship and preserving cultural heritage.
Additionally, its long-lasting design means fewer replacements, minimizing waste. Each purchase not only supports eco-friendly practices but also empowers local artisans and their families, contributing to sustainable livelihoods.

Meet the Artisan
Rodrigo Leonel Villanueva Cuevas was born in San Sebastian Tutla Oaxaca in the year of 1965, he learned the craftsmanship tradition thanks to his family.
His great Grandfather Mr. Roman Cordova Platas made shawls and his grandmother Felipa Cordova Vargas and her husband Guillermo Cuevas Mendez had their linen workshop. His mother Mrs. Guillermina Cuevas Cordova makes the typical Oaxaquena Blankets, and she had the great idea of making clothes with handmade fabric.
From the year 1990 Rodrigo had his own workshop and he started working independent and incorporating the knowledge of all of his family and making new designs and recycling old designs.
With the help of his wife Macrina Reyes Matus, who is in charge of making the clothes. His son Guillermo Villanueva Reyes with his wife Andrea Cruiz Bernal have also joined the family workshop. All together they form a team to make beautiful and very good quality products.
These Mexican-made hammocks feature a wide wooden bar with a weather resistant stain, beautiful handmade fringe details along the sides, and metal lined hooks to ensure a sturdy hang. They are made with 100% Cotton.

What are people saying about Mexican Loomed Hammock?
How to use
To enjoy your Mexican Loomed Hammock, simply find two sturdy anchor points (like trees or hammock stands) that are 12–15 feet apart. Use appropriate hanging hardware to secure it safely. Once hung, gently settle into the hammock and let its hand-loomed cotton weave cradle you in comfort. For the best experience, position your body diagonally across the hammock — this flattens out the fabric and provides the most support.
Perfect for lounging in your backyard, on your porch, or even indoors, this artisan-made hammock adds a touch of Oaxaca's craftsmanship to your relaxation time. When not in use, store it in a dry place to extend its life.
